SEO Article Writing: Content that Immediately Rank on Page #1

Publish content overloaded with useful and actionable information. Your website search ranking depends on the content you publish on the site. For a search engine, the objective is to help its users discover the most useful content on the searched keyword. By publishing awesome content, you help people discover the stuff they are looking for: all the information and media that quenches their thirst for answers.

By publishing highly useful content around topics that your potential users are searching, you set the ball rolling for ranking in search engines.

Short & Simple Will Lead You to Doom: Know the New KISS Strategy

Don’t rely on the KISS technique, keeping it short and simple, if you want to rank in search engines. Keep it super long, yet simple. Don’t be lazy when creating content for your website. Create long-form content loaded with detailed information, images, videos, audio, visual graphics, illustrations and infographics.

Write posts that are at least 1,000-words long. Always try to cross the 2,000-words mark if you really want to drive search engine traffic to your website.

The longer the article, the better chance of ranking. If your competition has a 3,000-word article, publish a more comprehensive article with, say, 5,000 words.

Substance Without Beauty Won’t Bring the Traffic

What kind of products do you buy? Will you be eating out at a restaurant with awesome food that looks gross? Learn to package your website content. Your content should also be visually appealing. How to do it?

Make your content easy to read. Use short sentences. Use the old KISS technique here, keep it short and simple.

Break your content in small paragraphs. Divide your content into sections and add informative, catchy headings to all the sections. This makes your content easy to read, or rather easy to scan, for readers.

Give visual breaks to your content by adding images, visual graphics, videos and other media.

Simple Image Editing Technique to Drastically Improve Your Content Visually

Don’t just add images to your blog posts and articles. Use Photoshop, Gimp or any online image manipulation tool to pimp up free stock images and boost traffic.

Add an introductory image with the article title, or an alternative title, overlaid on it. If done creatively, such images with the article topic superimposed on it can add to the aesthetic charm of your website.

Use this image as the featured image for your articles. An attractive images as the featured image will not only make your website beautiful, but it will also get displayed in social media when the article is shared.

Make sure that you use beautiful fonts and place them in an aesthetic manner. Check out other sites for learning from examples.

I am sure you can guess the end result: more eyeball = more social media traffic.

Turn Data into Traffic-Pulling Hooks

If you have some data and numbers in your article, turn them into visual graphics or infographics.

You can create simple infographics using presentation apps (such as PowerPoint) and spreadsheet apps ( such as Excel). If you can work with Photoshop or any image illustration application, your infographics can look stunning.

Making interesting infographics do not only make your website content pleasing to your readers, but also improve the chances of getting social media shares.

Know the Right Place to Add Your Target Keywords

Keywords are the pillars of SEO content. Simply adding keywords in the content doesn’t work. You must know how and where to use them. Gone are the days of keyword stuffing when people repeated the keyword without any meaning and still ranked at the top.

Bring the Keyword to the Front: Add your primary keyword in the title and also include it in the first 100 words. For best results, use the primary keyword in the very first sentence. Try to have the primary keyword as close to the beginning of the article.

Right Number of Primary Keyword Mentions: Keyword stuffing isn’t going to work, but not repeating the primary keyword is also dangerous. The primary keyword should appear 3-5 times every 1,000 words.

Sprinkle Secondary Keywords & Long Tail Keywords: Though the primary keyword must be used judiciously, you can use secondary keyword variants in the article more freely without repeating any keyword more than a few times.

Keyword Density Still Works, Know the New Formula

Keyword stuffing is doomed, but you still have to maintain the keyword density to help the search engines learn what your article is all about. Around 2-5% of your content should the keyword that you are targetting to rank for.

In a 1,000-word article, the keyword should appear 20-50 times. That’s way too much repetition? Not if your keyword includes a mix of primary and secondary keywords.

Make sure not to repeat any secondary keyword more than 2-3 times. Also, try to emphasise your keywords by making them bold/strong in the article.

Lead Readers to the Right Path With Proper Headings

Add lots of headings and subheadings with primary and secondary keywords. All of these keywords should appear in the H1, H2, H3 tags.

All of your webpages should have only one H1 tag with the primary keyword in it. The webpages should also have one or two H2 tags with other important keyword variants. Add as many H3 tags as necessary to include other secondary keywords.

Don’t use dull headings or subheadings. Be imaginative when writing the headings.

Your content title and headings should entice readers with actionable benefits. Eg: 20 Ways to  20x Website Content SEO, Secret Strategy to Increase Website Traffic by 25% in 7 Days

Media is Powerful, Even in SEO

All your content should have media such as images, videos, audio, PDF files, etc. When adding media files, include the primary keyword in the file name if feasible. In images, add proper ALT, TITLE tags and descriptions for better SEO. You can embed videos using YouTube. For audio embedding, you can use SoundCloud.
