When I created my AdSense account, I decided to use a separate Gmail account with a unique email address. I wanted to have one email address for running all my websites and the related stuff, including domain registrations.
One of the reasons was my idea of keeping my personal email hidden from WHOIS bots that have access to all registrant data. So I ended up with a new Gmail account. I used this account across all my online activities only to realise later that it was a big mistake.
It is better to have all your vital website-related accounts such as Google Analytics, AdSense, AdWords and Feedburner in your primary Google account. So I promptly moved all my feeds and analytics data to the primary account. The only hurdle was how to move my AdSense account to the primary Google account. I guess till some time ago there was no way to move your AdSense account from one email address to another.
In the new Google AdSense interface, you can find an option to add new users (with or without full administrator rights) to your account. The featured is currently in the beta stage.
How to add users to AdSense account?
- Log in to your AdSense account with new interface
- Go to “Account Settings” page
- Scroll down to the “Access and authorization” section
- Under the “Users with sign-in access (beta)” heading, you will find an option to invite users
- Type in the email address and hit the Enter key. New users will receive an invitation.
- Check the “Administrator” box against the new email address if the user needs to control the account.
Word of caution: As you can see, the process of adding a new user or email to an existing AdSense account is very simple. Do not provide Administrator rights to anyone other than whom you can trust. If an administrator user can messes up things, you will be held responsible for the account. As a penalty, you might lose your account as well.
The above method can be used to change the email address associated with your AdSense account. You can switch your AdSense account from one email address to another or just add a new administrator to access your AdSense account from multiple Google accounts.
- Add the new email address by following the steps mentioned above
- Accept the invitation from your another email account
- Now log in to AdSense with your new email address
- Add your name and contact details on the Account Settings page.
- You can now delete the old email address from the account
Please note that even when switching to another email address, you cannot compromise with the Google AdSense terms and policies. Make sure that your website comply with Google policies in terms of content and website layouts. You do not want to lose your Google AdSense account as it means being denied access to the best advertising network. Always play by the rules and keep your AdSense account in good standing.
